Working on?

Working on my raise table/platform that I project onto, hope I do not have to move the legs but looks like I may have too?
I will be cutting later today the LED light strips and adhering them to underneath the platform. The L shaped brackets came in this week.

Finished Giants revisited last night and started Belkzen, Hold of the Orc Hordes. If you did not know I use the Pathfinder world in D&D 5e rules.

Off the Rails!

Going to go off the Rails!

I will be running the rest of Rise of the Runelords Campaign, so it is time to go off the rails with character back stories, changing or ignoring minor aspects of the books to better fit these concepts that players will be bringing forth.

The hardest part of running a game is inspiring the players to do homework for the character they play.
I had players choose gods from the Golarion pantheons then added obedience's that the characters can add flavour towards character development, so far after one session no one tried to preform an obedience.
I also added a trait that the character can always get as a worshiper of  said god, that I will take away at key points if they do not take a few opportunities to praise said god during play.
Simple things like even saying "my character takes a drink and thinks about Cayden" done keep the trait.

I prefer a cruncher version of 5e but do not want the massive amounts that Pathfinder 1e currently offers.

Example of an Obedience below,

Gozreh

Obedience Hang a set of chimes where they will be stirred by
either wind or water. If no suitable location exists to hang the
chimes, you must hold the chimes and shake them gently to
sound them throughout your obedience. Chant prayers from
Hymns to the Wind and the Waves as you attune yourself to
the sound of the chimes, then drink a mouthful of pure water
and pour a handful over your head. Gain advantage on your first
saving throws against electricity and water spells and
effects.

RotR session 8?

At least I think it is session 8? 😀 in 5e

What's to come,
The group is in book two and believes they found the bad guy or at least where they are hiding out.
They rode off towards the manor and are stopping by a farm that a ghoul attack took place at on the way.

What Happened,
I beefed up a Necromancer encounter the party had and thought it would have been still no problem at all, until one party members ran off in pursuit of a orderly working at the sanatorium that the party went to to get information from and the rest decided to enter the basement.
The Barbarian could not pass a Constitution save with advantage to save himself. He kept passing the Intelligence saves against Phantasmal force but not the Con. ones.
The Necromancer Caizarlu Zerren shall return next time for revenge on the group that took it all away.

We are playing D&D 5E and currently the party consists of,
Mack-Human Cleric of  Sarenrae
Toucan-Kenku/ Aarakocra hybrid Monk. no flight but can talk worships Cayden Cailean
Charles-Half Orc Barbarian worships Cayden Cailean
Ulfgar-Dwarf Druid of Gozreh

What the Pathfinder 2e may become?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODwKR65IsJ4&t=4s

Work, Campaigning & 5e

With the slow down pending I have finally more time to work on the upcoming sessions.

I enjoy my time off but I would like to game more, but currently does not work into my schedule. Twice a month is currently my cap. I could do another group/extra sessions if I did not run the game.

I have read a few adventures from 5e and have to say Paizo's adventure paths are written more to my liking. It's my opinion, so to you, you may disagree.

going back 5 campaigns I did the same as I did my last one.
I gave paths that the group choose and used those paths in the game.
5 campaigns ago I use the D&D 3.5 rules and ran the game exclusively out of Dungeon magazine.
I would throw down 4 to 6 choices of which were adventures of the appropriate levels and then change them to meet the world and the players needs.

I like to give the group questions that they answer as the characters they portray and work that into the game, Like old enemies (make them the enemy in the adventure) backgrounds, etc....

I like to do the same with every adventure I run. This time I'm co-DMing so it's hard to do it.
It is different method I have to use and have not come up with one yet?
